The University at Buffalo sent three entries to the Knecht Cup, hosted by Villanova University, over the weekend. The Novice 8 entry was the only boat to reach the finals, finishing first in its heat in 7:13.5 ahead of teams from Lafayette, Marist, North Carolina, Pittsburgh and Penn State. In the finals, the team took second in 7:20.6, six seconds behind first-place finisher Massachusetts (7:14.8). The squad from Massachusetts was the only team faster (7:11) than the Bulls in the four heats which determined the six finalists. UB's entry consisted of coxswain Randi Prusak (Attica, NY/Attica), stroke seat Michelle Schwach (Buffalo, NY/Nardin Academy), seventh seat Lavoya Reddish (Queens, NY/Hillcrest), sixth seat Kasey Hansen (Honeoye Falls, NY/Honeoye Falls-Lima), fifth seat Amy Aldridge (Penfield, NY/Penfield), fourth seat Deanna Knighton (Angola, NY/Lake Shore), third seat Melissa Ward (Clifton Park, NY/Shenendehowa), second seat Jessica Roman (Spencer, NY/Spencer-Van Etten) and bow seat Sara Sullivan (West Seneca, NY/West Seneca East).

UB's varsity four squad just missed reaching the finals, falling six seconds short of cracking the top six. The Bulls finished 11th among 17 entrants. The entry consisted of coxswain Katie Johnson (Kenmore, NY/Holy Angels), stroke seat Courtney Kane (Latham, NY/Shaker), third seat Margaret Siller (Buffalo, NY/Hutch-Tech), second seat Karey Smollar (Guilderland, NY/Guilderland) and bow seat Jessica Barrell (Buffalo, NY/Nardin Academy). The team turned in a time of 8:09.2, placing second in its heat.

The Bulls' varsity eight squad tied for 11th among 20 competitors. UB raced to a 7:03 finish to tie Connecticut in its heat. UB's entry consisted of coxswain Tina LaFountain (Scotia, NY/Burnt Hills), stroke seat Kali Spoto (Pittsford, NY/Pittsford-Sutherland), seventh seat Melissa Warhol (Orchard Park, NY/Nardin Academy), sixth seat Mary Conniff (Camden, NY/Camden), fifth seat Tara Celestini (St. Catharines, Ontario/Sir Winston Churchill), fourth seat Sarah Vieira (Pompton Lakes, NJ/DePaul Diocesan), third seat Tracy Clarke (Mt.
