UB Crew Competes in Ithaca

Buffalo crew competition is once again plagued by bad weather

BUFFALO, NY - The Univerisy at Buffalo women's crew competed in rainy condidtions this past weekend against Ithaca, Williams, and William Smith on Lake Cayuga in Ithaca, NY.

The varsity eight rowed against Williams in a preliminary event and were defeated by several lengths. In the novice race the women's boat was soundly beaten by Ithaca College. Rowing into a strong headwind, the heavier Ithaca crew won by thirty seconds.

Weather conditions worsened during Saturday and the only UB crew able to complete its second event before races were postponed was the varsity eight. In the petite final, Buffalo finished six lengths behind Ithaca.

Heavy rain and thunder postponed the novice eight and varsity four events.

Buffalo hopes for better weather this weekend as they are slated to travel to Erie, PA to take on Mercyhurst on April 15.
