BUFFALO, NY ­ The University at Buffalo's women's crew 2001 opened its spring season with a meet against Ithaca and Marist at Ithaca, NY. Conditions for the Race were cold and dry with temperatures in the low 50's, with a slight head wind.

UB's lightweight eight won its race with a time of 7:42.0 beating Ithaca and Marist.

Comprising UB's lightweight eight squad were Janet Lane, Becky Mohr, Andrea Junkans, Allison Junkans, Courtney Kane, Colleen Robinson, Kary Smolar, Jessica O'Grady and coxswain Sarah Wold.

UB finished in third in third for the remainder of the races.

In the women's varsity eight race, the Bulls finished with a time of 7:13.2, behind Ithaca and Marist. UB's second varsity eight boat finished with a time of 7:45.4. The Bulls novice eight finished with a time of 8:10.8

UB now has a break until April 13, when competition resumes at Mercyhurst.
