New York State Championship Race Results


Katie Rizzone (Clarence, NY), KJ Albright (Ontario, NY), Jennifer Niertit (Webster, NY), Katy Frank (Schenectady, NY) and coxswian Silvia Muller (Buffalo, NY) won the gold medal in the Women's Novice four category at the New York State Rowing Championship held in Rome, NY May 2-3, 1998. The women placed first ahead of teams from Iona, NYU, Sarah Lawrence, Colgate & Rochester.

This Year marks the beginning of Division I competition for the University at Buffalo Rowing team, having existed as a club since 1989. The team is coached by head coach Wendy Black and assistant coaches Lisa Johnson and Mike Smith.
