Dan Francis Named Cal Ripken, Sr. Collegiate Baseball League Pitcher of the Week

Junior hurler has a 1.57 ERA on the summer

BUFFALO, NY – Junior Dan Francis (East Amherst, NY/Clarence) was recently announced as the Cal Ripken, Sr. Collegiate Baseball League Pitcher of the Week for the week of July 16 to July 22. Francis, who plays for the Rockville Express, scattered five hits and a walk over eight innings in a win over the College Park Bombers on July 17. Francis allowed two unearned runs and struck out five batters. Opponents hit just .167 off of him, second lowest in the league among starters.

On the season, Francis has made eight appearances, including four starts, and has a 3-2 record with a 1.57 ERA.

Francis made 15 appearances for UB during the 2007 season as he finished with a 1-4 record and a 4.41 ERA.
