Bulls Doing Well During Summer League Action

BUFFALO, NY - The University at Buffalo baseball team has been well represented this summer as 15 of its baseball players have been playing in summer leagues all over the country. Several UB players competed in its summer league all-star game for their teams. Jacob Rosenbeck was named Most Valuable Player of the New England Collegiate Baseball League All-Star Game.

Rosenbeck has played in 32 games this season for the Holyoke Blue Sox and is tied for second on the team with his .311 batting average. He has a team-best 10 doubles and is third on the team with 14 RBIs. In the All-Star game, the third baseman notched two base hits, along with the single in the bottom of the third inning that tied the game at two. Also playing for the Blue Sox is Rob Lawler. Kevin Crumb (Waterford, MI/Our Lady of the Lakes) has had an solid season so far the Melville Millionaires as he is currently second on the team with his 3.83 ERA. He is currently 4-1 and has struck out 37 batters. Brian Lattanzi is also playing his summer ball with the Millionaires..

Also pitching strong is Pierre Miville-Deschenes who was named to the All-Star team of the Intercounty Baseball League. Miville-Deschenes has a 2-1 record with an outstanding 1.24 ERA. In a start earlier this season, Miville-Deschenes had a no-hitter in the final inning before pitching a two-hit shutout.

Charlie Karsdet is currently in the Southern California Collegiate Baseball Association, playing for the Palm Springs Power. He is batting .263 with four doubles and three triples.

Brad Cochrane is playing for the Dodge City Athletics of the Jayhawk League and is currently fifth on the team in batting with a .278 average. He also has three doubles, a triple and a home run. Jesse Reinstein is also playing for the Dodge City Athletics.

Shivam Bhan and Bobby Pizzuto are both currently playing for the Alexandria Aces of the Cal Ripken Baseball League.

Brad Agustin and Adam Skonieczki are both playing in the Coastal Plains League. Agustin is playing for the Martinsville Mustangs while Skonieczki is playing for the Edenton Steamers.

Bryan Smith and Kevin McCall are both playing in the New York Collegiate Baseball League. Smith is playing for the Webster Yankees and McCall is part of the Albany Dutchman.

River McWilliams is playing for the North Coast Knights of the Prospect League.
