Mike Folli Named Coastal Plain League All-Star
Folli, who is playing for the Outer Banks Daredevils, is currently second on the team with a .327 batting average as the team's starting shortstop. Folli leads his team in hits (36), doubles (five), triples (four) and runs batted in (16). Folli is also 10-of-13 in stolen base attempts. His four triples are tops in the Coastal Plain League. Folli is no stranger to summer league all-star teams as he was named last season to the Great Lakes Summer Collegiate League All-Star Game following a freshman season where he was a Louisville Slugger/Collegiate Baseball Freshman All-American and an All-MAC second team selection. This past year, Folli hit a .271 for the Bulls, including 14 doubles and a team-high three triples, while driving in 26 runs. Folli is the lone representative from the Daredevils playing in this year's all-star game. The Coastal Plain League is one of the nation’s hottest summer collegiate baseball leagues, now in its 10th season. Featuring 15 teams playing in North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia, the CPL is certified by Major League Baseball, and gives college players the chance to refine their skills with wooden bats during the summer months. |
