BUFFALO, NY – Former University at Buffalo standout Mike Folli was promoted to the Palm Beach Cardinals, the highest Single-A affiliate of the St. Louis Cardinals. Folli started the season with the Quad City River Bandits.

Folli, who was selected in the 42nd round of the 2007 draft by the Cardinals, hit .264 in 45 games for Quad City before his promotion with eight doubles, two triples and two home runs. Since joining Palm Beach, Folli has seen action in five games and recorded a run-scoring single against the Jupiter Hammerheads on June 19.

Folli wrapped up his UB playing career following the 2007 season where he was named to the first-team All-MAC finishing eighth in the league in batting with a team-high .346 batting average. During that season he also led the Bulls with 13 doubles and 12 stolen bases.

Folli is one of two UB players currently in the minor leagues as Steve Geltz is with the Orem Owlz in the farm system of the Anaheim Angels.
