BUFFALO, NY Mark Tourangeau (Oakville, Ontario/Queen Elizabeth Park), an incoming freshman on the University at Buffalo baseball team, was selected by the Seattle Mariners in the 40th round of the 2003 Major League Baseball First-Year Player Draft. He will join the UB baseball team this fall and plans to study economics.

Tourangeau is a 6'5" right-handed pitcher who was 7-1 with two saves and a 1.06 ERA for Team Ontario and head coach Jason Chi-Aloy in 2002. He struck out 46 batters in 39.2 innings pitched. In addition to being selected to the Toronto area's Top 50 list as a player, Tourangeau has been an honor student for four years and is fluent in French.
