BUFFALO, NY - The University at Buffalo baseball team announced its award winners for the 2007. Junior Mike Folli (Endicott, NY/Union-Endicott) was named Most Outstanding Player, while senior transfer Mike Radanovic (Surrey, British Columbia/L.A. Matheson) was named Top Newcomer. Junior Rick Oliveri (Tonawanda, NY/Canisius) received the Coaches' Award and freshman Bobby Pizzuto (Mentor, OH/Notre Dame Cathedral) was named Most Improved Player.

Folli led the team with a .346 batting average and became UB's first ever selection to the All-MAC First Team following the season. Folli also becomes the first UB player to pick up postseason honors in more than one season, as he was a second-team All-MAC selection following his freshman year. Folli also tied for the team lead with 13 doubles and 12 stolen bases on the year.

Radanovic pitched just one season for the Bulls as he transferred from Niagara prior to the season. The senior southpaw was stellar in his one season with UB as he was named to the All-MAC Second Team, making it the first time that UB has had multiple players on the postseason All-MAC squads. Radanovic finished with a 3-2 record, including a flawless 3-0 mark in conference play, finishing with six no decisions in MAC games. He led the team with a 3.80 ERA, as well as innings pitched (80.2) and strikeouts (62).

Pizzuto capped off his fantastic freshmen year with a 14-game hitting streak, which was tops on the team for the season. Pizzuto hit .314 on the season, which was second on the team, and 26 runs batted in were all second bet on the squad. Pizzuto also gave the Bulls a solid presence in center field as he made several nice grabs throughout the season.

Oliveri played in 44 games this past season and the team's catcher and finished tied for fourth on the team with 21 runs batted in. Oliveri threw out 14 runners trying to steal on his this season and was a key part of UB's success in MAC play this season as he started the majority of the conference games.

As a team, UB had its most successful MAC season as they finished in seventh place in the conference, just shy of the six-team field for the MAC Tournament. UB's 11 conference wins are five more than its previous high of six.
