Bulls Fall Short In Final Series Against Kent State

After splitting a final non-conference doubleheader this past week, the University at Buffalo baseball team dropped all three game in the Bulls’ series against Kent State. UB did fight in each game, losing the first two games in 11 innings, while holding a late lead in the third game, only to fall short. Earlier in the week, the Bulls recorded a season-high 17 runs in their victory over the Bonnies.

UB Finishes Seventh In The MAC

Following a season where the Bulls had a shot to make their first ever MAC Tournament, UB placed seventh in the MAC, its highest finish ever in the conference. The Bulls entered the final weekend of play with a chance to finish as the six seed, but was unable to do so as Toledo claimed that spot in the tournament.

Extra! Extra!

The Bulls played in 10 extra-inning games this season, winning three of the contests, including conference victories over Eastern Michigan and Western Michigan. UB finished up with extra inning games in two of the three contests with Kent State, as the first two games in the series each went 11 innings.

On Deck

The Bulls completed their most successful MAC season since joining the conference for the 2001 season. UB had 11 conference victories this year, five more than their previous best of six. UB won three straight conference series earlier this year, taking two out of three games from Ohio, Western Michigan and Akron. It was the first time UB had ever taken back-to-back conference series, let alone three straight. Later in the season, UB took two of three from Bowling Green, making the Falcons UB’s fourth conference series victory of the season, the most series victories UB has had in a year.??
