Bulls Fall To Miami, 7-0
Miami got on the board with single runs in the third and fifth innings and added two more during a two-out rally in the eighth inning. The big blow for the RedHawks then came as they scored three runs in the top of the ninth. RedHawk starter, Connor Graham, was able to go eight innings and despite allowing six hits, did not give up a run. It was the first time since the conference-opening weekend against Central Michigan that UB was shut out in a game. Junior Mark Tourangeau (Oakville, Ontario/Queen Elizabeth Park) got the start for UB and pitched into the ninth inning before he was pulled after allowing a leadoff hit in the ninth. Tourangeau allowed five runs on seven hits and struck out four batters as he evened his record at 3-3 with the loss.
The Bulls recorded their hits from six different players in the game as freshman Bobby Pizzuto (Mentor, OH/Notre Dame Cathedral) improved his hitting streak to 11 straight games with a single in the eighth inning. Sophomore Brad Agustin (Williamsville, NY/Williamsville East) reached base twice in the game as he recorded a hit and also walked in the contest. UB managed to get just one runner to third base all game and that was junior Mike Folli (Endicott, NY/Union-Endicott) in the eighth inning. The Bulls and RedHawks will wrap up their three-game series tomorrow with a 1:00 pm start. UB will recognize its three seniors prior to the start of the game. |
