Bulls Fall at Kent State, 7-1
Kent State got on the board with a run in the first. Chris Tremblay led off with a single to left. He advanced to third on a single by Doug Sanders and then scored as Anthony Gallas grounded into a double play. The Golden Flashes scored two more in the third to take a 3-0 lead. Gallas reached on an error to begin the inning and Conor Egan hit a two-run homer over the shallow right center field fence to give Kent State a three run lead.
Kent State bumped their lead back up to three with a run in the bottom of the fourth. Tremblay singled home Ryan Mitchell who had walked to open the inning. With one out in the bottom of the sixth, the game was delayed for an hour and ten minutes due to rain. After the delay, Kent State added to their lead with a pair of runs in the sixth and another run in the eighth, giving the Golden Flashes a 7-1 advantage. The loss drops the Bulls to 13-31 on the season, 6-13 in the Mid-American Conference. Buffalo and Kent State will conclude their three-game set on Sunday, May 4 at Schoonover Stadium. First pitch for Sunday’s finale is scheduled for 1:00 p.m.
