Bulls’ Three Two-Run Home Runs Not Enough in Slugfest with Miami (OH) Adam Skonieczki goes 4-for-4 with a two-run home run OXFORD, OH – Three two-run home runs including two in the fourth inning were not enough to push the University at Buffalo baseball team past conference opponent Miami (OH) as the Bulls fell 15-9 on Friday evening. In the weekend opener, the Bulls and RedHawks combined for 30 hits including five home runs.
The Bulls re-established their lead in the top of the second as Brad Cochrane smashed a two-run shot over the left-field wall for his first career home run. Trailing 5-3 in the top of the fourth, Shivam Bhan and Adam Skonieczki sent two-run shots out of the park for the Bulls’ 7-5 lead. Skonieczki’s two-run left-center shot was his first home run of the season.
In the top of the seventh, Jacob Rosenbeck dropped an RBI-double in right field, his second double of the day, to put the Bulls in the lead 9-8. The RedHawks’ erased the Bulls lead in the bottom of the seventh by scoring six runs to take a 14-9 lead. In the bottom of the eighth, the RedHawks added a run to close out the day’s scoring with the final score, 15-9. Reliever Zach Anderson (3-4) recorded the loss for the Bulls.
