Bulls Fall in Non-Conference Matchup to Le Moyne Chris Ciesla extends hit streak to 18 games BUFFALO, NY – The University at Buffalo baseball team fell to Le Moyne College, 7-3 in a mid-week non-conference matchup at the Amherst Audubon Field on Wednesday. Designated hitter Chris Ciesla extended his hit streak to 18 games with an RBI single, the longest hit streak by a Bull since the 2005 season. The Dolphins' Matt Marra hit a two-RBI single with runners on second and third to put the Dolphins on the board in the first inning, 2-0. A few batters later, the Dolphins added a run off an RBI single to take a 3-0 lead.
In the fifth and sixth innings, the teams exchanged a pair of one-run innings with the Dolphins remaining in the lead at the end of the sixth inning, 5-3. The Bulls pulled within a pair in the sixth inning off a run down at second, allowing Eric Flynn to cross the plate. The Dolphins extended their lead in the top of the seventh off a two-RBI single up the middle by Matt Nandin.
Starter Chaz Mye (0-4) recorded the loss for the Bulls in 5.0 inning of work. The Bulls (14-20, 3-8 MAC) will hit the road as they travel to Oxford, OH to face Mid-American Conference opponent Miami (OH) for a weekend conference series on April 17-19. The Bulls-RedHawks series will open with game one on Friday, April 17 with the first pitch set for 6:00 pm.
