KALAMAZOO, MI - Redshirt freshman Neal Miller lifted a three-run homer for Western Michigan in the bottom of the seventh inning to lead it past the University at Buffalo baseball team, 4-3, at Hyames Field on Saturday afternoon.

The win spoiled another great outing by sophomore ace Shane Wolf (Freeville, NY/Lansing), who drew a no-decision after six innings of one-run work. He allowed six hits and three walks and struck out one to drop his conference ERA to 2.55 in 24.2 innings of work.

After the Broncos (18-13 overall, 6-5 MAC) scored a lone run in the second inning, but the Bulls (7-23 overall, 2-9 MAC) came back to take a 3-1 lead in the top of the fifth inning. Freshman left fielder Eric Flynn (Niagara Falls, NY/Niagara Falls) led off with a double. After a groundout, freshman Brad Agustin (Williamsville, NY/Williamsville East) single to right, tying the game. Agustin stole second and took third on a flyout, but scored on a two-run blast from senior James Kingsley (Medina, NY/Medina) for his 23rd career blast.

Western Michigan fought back in the seventh, as senior reliever Matt Johnson (Montague, MI/Montague) (0-5) gave up a hit batter and a walk, setting up the homer from Miller.

Only Matt Bolton managed two hits for the Broncos, who were outhit 11-7 by the Bulls in the contest.

Mark Rasmussen (4-0) went seven innings, allowing 10 hits and two walks, but just three runs, as he stranded nine runners on base. Brian Kross (1) picked up the save with two innings of scoreless relief, allowing just one hit.

The Bulls and Broncos wrap the three-game set on Sunday afternoon with a 1:00 pm game at Hyames Field.
