Bulls Capture Weekend Opener over Western Michigan Five-run third inning opens Bulls' scoring BUFFALO, NY – The University at Buffalo baseball team opened its Mid-American Conference weekend series versus Western Michigan with a 9-6 victory on Friday at the Amherst Audubon Field. The Bulls' scoring was opened with a five-run third inning eventually propelling the Bulls to their second conference victory.
The Broncos managed to pull within two with a four-run eighth inning led by a three-RBI triple by Tim Cross, 8-6. The Bulls sealed the win with a run in the bottom of the eighth off a sarcifice fly by Agustin to right field, scoring Eric Flynn.
Lawler and Agustin went 3-for-4 while Rosenbeck went 2-for-4. Rosenbeck and Agustin tied for a team-high two RBIs and Lawler added an RBI to the Bulls' totals. The Bulls (13-17, 2-7 MAC) will play the second game of its weekend series against the Broncos on Saturday, April 11 with the first pitch set for 1:00 pm.
