Bulls Take One From Toledo

Despite the 1-3 record on the week, the Bulls were able to flash some power and received an excellent pitching performance in their victory over Toledo, 9-3. UB began the week with a loss to cross-town rival Canisius, but did hit three home runs in the game, their most in a single game this year. After falling 12-2 in the series opener at Toledo, the Bulls were then able to win the second game before falling in the rubber match on a walk-off sacrifice fly in the ninth inning.

Ciesla Has Week To Remember

Sophomore Chris Ciesla (Endicott, NY/Union-Endicott) had one of the best weeks of his career this past week, hitting .533 in the last four games. Ciesla began the week by hitting two home runs against Canisius. In UB’s victory over Toledo, Ciesla went 4-for-5 from the dish with one run batted in and Ciesla crossed the plate twice himself. Ciesla finished the week with six RBIs and six runs scored. He also had two doubles on the week. While he served as the team’s designated hitter mostly and played some first base, Ciesla also came in to pitch against Canisius.

Radanovic Picks Up First Win

Senior Mike Radanovic (Surrey, British Columbia/L.A. Matheson) picked up his first victory in a UB uniform with his seven innings pitched in a win against Toledo. Radanovic struck out seven Rocket batters, allowing seven hits, one walk and just one run. With his performance, Radanovic is now the team leader in innings pitched and strikeouts.

Folli Still Leading The Way

Junior Mike Folli (Endicott, NY/Union-Endicott) continues to lead the team with a .350 batting average. Folli is the only player on the roster to start all 25 games this season and is the team leader with 35 hits and 11 stolen bases. He has also walked 13 times, more than any other UB player.

Flynn Returns To Lineup

The Bulls have gotten a boost by the return of Eric Flynn (Niagara Falls, NY/Niagara Falls) who returned during the Eastern Michigan series and has played in the last six games for the Bulls. Flynn gives the Bulls speed on the basepaths and in the outfield. For the year Flynn is batting .244 with three doubles and four runs batted in. He has also stole four of the five bases he has attempted this season.

On Deck

The Bulls begin their longest homestand of the season, host the next five games at Amherst Audubon Field. UB welcomes Niagara on Tuesday before hosting Western Michigan for a three-game series this weekend. The Bulls will also host St. Bonaventure next week before hitting the road again.
