Bulls Drop a Pair to St. Bonaventure
St. Bonaventure got on the board first in game one when a leadoff walk in the second inning to T.J. Pennino resulted in the first run of the contest. The Bonnies added to their lead in the fifth with four runs, the biggest hit coming on a two-run homer to left field by Randy Moley. Rob Mancini (Windsor, Ontario/St. Thomas) had a pair of hits, including a double, in the first game of the doubleheader for the Bulls.
But St. Bonaventure took the lead in the bottom of the fifth when a walk and a trio of hits led to three runs for the Bonnies. Jesse Reinstein (Thornhill, Ontario/Westmount Collegiate) started game two for the Bulls and was outstanding in three innings of work, striking out six; he also picked off a pair of St. Bonaventure base runners. Buffalo will return to the diamond this weekend as the Bulls make their first Mid-American Conference road trip of the season. The Bulls will travel to Muncie, IN to take on Ball State in a three-game set. Friday’s game is scheduled to begin at 3:00 p.m. while first pitch on Saturday and Sunday is set for 1:00 p.m.
