Folli Takes the Field with the St. Louis Cardinals

Former UB standout earns a plate appearance against the Florida Marlins

JUPITER, FL – Former University at Buffalo standout Mike Folli joined the St. Louis Cardinals yesterday, laying down a sacrifice bunt in the ninth inning of a 2-0 victory over the Florida Marlins in the Cardinals' final Grapefruit League game of the spring.

Folli, who was drafted last season in the 42nd round by St. Louis, is expected to begin this season with the Palm Beach Cardinals of the Florida State League. Last season Folli had a .264 batting average while splitting time between the Batavia Muckdogs and the Johnson City Cardinals.

Folli's twin brother, E.J. Folli (Endicott, NY/Union-Endicott), is a senior on the University at Buffalo baseball team.
