OLEAN, NY – The University at Buffalo baseball team fell to Northern Illinois in the final game of their three-game series on Sunday, 6-4. The loss drops the Bulls to 5-14 overall, 0-3 in the Mid-American Conference.

Buffalo scored first in the bottom of the second inning on a trio of errors by the Huskies. Chris Ciesla (Endicott, NY/Union-Endicott) opened the inning by reaching base on a throwing error by the NIU shortstop. After a walk moved Ciesla to second and he advanced to third on a double play, another error, this time by the Northern Illinois first baseman, allowed Ciesla to open the scoring for the Bulls.

Northern Illinois tied the game in the fourth when a two-out walk to Justin Behm led to the first run of the game for the Huskies. After the walk, Behm then stole second and scored on a single by Tim Kamin.

Adam Skonieczki (Endicott, NY/Union-Endicott) led off the sixth inning with a home run for the Bulls and Rob Mancini (Windsor, Ontario/St. Thomas) led off the seventh with solo shot over the left field fence, giving Buffalo a 3-1 lead.

After the Huskies scored a run in the seventh, they tied the game again in the eighth on another RBI single by Kamin.
