Buffalo Drops 13-2 Decision to James Madison
HARRISONBURG, VA The Buffalo baseball team continued its spring trip break trip on Wednesday afternoon and dropped a 13-2 decision to James Madison in Harrisonburg, VA. The game was called in the bottom of the seventh inning due to rain. For the second game in a row, the Bulls were able to score the game's first run as an RBI single by Chris McGraw (Summerville, SC/Stratford) drove in Phil Vanhorne (Scarborough, Ontario/Mother Teresa) to make the score 1-0. However, the lead was short-lived as the Dukes tied the game in the bottom of the first and scored twice more in the third to take a 3-1 lead. James Madison exploded for eight runs in the bottom of the fourth to break the game wide open. John Boom (London, Ontario/Catholic Central) ripped his fourth double of the season to score Jordan Alcott (Williamsville, NY/Williamsville South) in the sixth inning for the Bulls' second run. It was a rough outing for Jeff Loveys (Woodstock, Ontario/College Avenue SS). The UB hurler pitched 3 1/3 innings and allowed nine earn runs to get the loss. JMU's Rick McKernan pitch five innings of one-run ball to pick up the victory. UB batters were held to four hits on the afternoon. The loss drops the Bulls to 2-8 on the season. UB will play
at Towson State on Saturday. |
