Devin McIntosh enters his second season as an assistant coach for the University at Buffalo, focusing on this year’s pitching staff. He arrives at UB after spending the 2008 season at Western New York rival Niagara University where he served as the pitching coach. As a part of the coaching staff at Niagara, McIntosh lowered the Purple Eagles’ conference ERA by 2.58 and overall ERA by 1.5 during his short stay. In the summer of 2008, McIntosh served as the field manager for the Thunder Bay Bordercats of the Northwoods League. During his time in Thunder Bay, Ontario, he guided the team to a league best 42-26 record and captured the 2008 Northwoods League Championship. Throughout the summers of 2005-07, McIntosh served as the assistant/bench coach for the Cotuit Kettleers of the Cape Cod Collegiate Baseball League. As an assistant coach, the Kettleers reached the playoffs in 2005 and 2006. In 2006, the team was rated as the number one summer team in the country by Perfect Game. McIntosh helped in the development of six MLB first-round draft picks during his stay in the Cape. McIntosh began his coaching career at LeTourneau University from 2004-2006 by serving as the pitching coach. McIntosh is a 2004 graduate of LeTourneau University, receiving a Bachelor’s of Science in Kinesiology. In 2007, he earned a Master’s of Education in Health and Exercise Science from the University of Texas at Tyler. |
