Ryan Crotin
Assistant Coach/Volunteer
Second Season
|
Ryan Crotin begins his second season as a volunteer assistant coach with the University at Buffalo baseball team. Crotin is a second-year PhD student at UB and a teaching assistant for undergraduate biomechanics and exercise physiology lab classes.
In the summer of 2007, Crotin played in Israel's first professional baseball league for the Petach Tikva Pioneers and hit the first double and home run in league history. He finished the season with a .348 batting average, six home runs and a league-leading 14 doubles in 38 games. Crotin was the seventh-ranked offensive player in the entire league.
From 2002 to 2006 he played professionally for the Oshawa Dodgers. There he was a three-time IBL First Team All League selection and the all-time record holder for batting average, on-base percentage, doubles, triples, runs scored and stolen bases. In 2006, Crotin played with the Gauting Indians in Germany. He was ranked 16th of 140 players in the Bundesliga Premier League.
Crotin received his Bachelor's from Maine and his Master's from Salem International University.
