Mark McKnight (McDonald, PA/South Fayette) led the UB wrestling team at the Beast of the East Collegiate Invitational on Friday, finishing second at 125 pounds to lead the Bulls to a fourth-place team finish among 13 teams. McKnight, a sophomore, won his first three matches before Northwestern's John Velez, ranked 14th and 15th in the country by WrestlingMall.com and Intermat, respectively, escaped with a 4-3 win in the finals. McKnight is 14-7 on the season with all seven of his losses coming to top-20 opponents.
Heather Turner (West Seneca, NY/Mount Mercy Academy) of the women's basketball team posted her third double-double of the season with 14 points and a game-high 12 rebounds at Canisius on Saturday.
