ATHLETES OF THE WEEK

Athletes of the Week - 12/16/2002

Patrick Lee (North Tonawanda, NY/North Tonawanda) of the men's swimming and diving team broke the school one-meter diving record with his 308.93 point performance against Niagara. The old record of 305.55 was set by Brian Baggett in 1991. Lee went on to sweep both diving competitions in UB's 128-95 victory over the Purple Eagles. On the three-meter board, the freshman scored a six-dive total of 304.80 to easily outdistance his competitors.

It was the second consecutive double-double for the junior forward, who nailed down the win for the Bulls with two free throws with six seconds left after pulling down a defensive rebound to snuff out Niagara's attempt to tie the game. She leads the Bulls in rebounding, averaging 8.2 boards per game, and ranks second on the team with 9.8 points per contest.
