ATHLETES OF THE WEEK

Turner Battle (Kernersville, NC/East Forsyth) of the men's basketball team scored the game-winning basket with three-tenths of a second left to give the Bulls an 81-79 victory over Niagara on Saturday. Battle's basket capped a stellar night as the junior point guard finished with a season-high 21 points, eight assists and five steals. He also had 18 points in a 72-49 win at Colgate to snap UB's 23-game road losing streak.

Jessica Kochendorfer (Allen, MI/Quincy) of the women's basketball team became the 13th player in school history to score 1,000 points. Kochendorfer reached the plateau by scoring 27 against Niagara on Saturday. She now has 1,022 for her four-year career. In two games last week, the senior forward averaged 16.5 points, 8.0 rebounds and 3.0 assists. She leads the Bulls this season at 15.2 points and 8.3 rebounds per game.
