Athletes of the Week - 12/05/2005
Kyle Cerminara (Lewiston,
NY/Lewiston-Porter) of the wrestling team became UB's all-time
victories leader, winning the 197-pound weight class at the Las Vegas Invitational. Cerminara went 5-0, including
victories over three nationally-ranked opponents, and has now won 19 straight matches to begin the season. He
now has 117 wins for his career, passing Gary Cooper's 1998-2003 mark of 113.
Brooke Meunier (Saginaw,
MI/Heritage) of the women's basketball team averaged 18 points and
6.5 assists in UB's two road victories against Lafayette and Niagara, as the Bulls snapped a 19-game road
losing streak. The senior guard scored 19 points and added a career-high seven assists in UB's 66-56 win at
Lafayette. She then scored 17 points with six assists at Niagara. Through five games this season, she leads the team
with 13.6 points per game and is second on the squad with 20 assists.
