Athletes of the Week - 12/03/2001
Louis Campbell (Rahway, NJ/Rahway) of the men's basketball
team scored the game-winning basket with 10.4 seconds left to give the
Bulls a 73-72 victory over New Hampshire on Saturday. Campbell registered
a double-double with 14 points and 11 rebounds and added six assists.
He also moved into ninth place (1,068) on UB's all-time scoring list,
passing hall-of-famer Harold Kuhn's (1949-52) mark of 1,065.
Carrie Quinlan (Amherst, NY/North Tonawanda)
of the women's swim team helped propel the Bulls to the
championship at Akron's Zippy Invitational. Quinlan won the 100
butterfly (56.91) and finished second in the 50 freestyle (24.29). She
was also part of the Bulls' winning 400 medley relay (3:54.03) team and
part of UB's 200 medley and 200 free relay teams that finished fourth
and sixth respectively.
