Athletes of the Week - 12/02/2002
 Mark Bortz (Commerce Township, MI/Walled Lake Central)
of the men's basketball team scored a season-high 17 points, including a career-best three three-pointers, at Detroit. Bortz added nine points and
a team-best nine rebounds in UB's 57-48 win over Rhode Island. For the season, the 6-10 sophomore
forward leads the Bulls with 11.8 points per game and is tied for the team lead with 5.5 rebounds per contest.
Hollie Cook (Horseheads,
NY/Horseheads) of the women's basketball team scored nine points
and added seven assists and five steals in UB's home-opening victory over Colgate. The 5-10 freshman guard
also grabbed four rebounds in the contest. Cook leads the Bulls with 11 assists and 11 steals in two games this
season and is also averaging 7.5 points and 4.5 rebounds per game.
