A.J. Principe (Columbus, OH/St. Francis DeSales) of the football team kicked three field goals including the game-winner with five seconds left to give the Bulls a 9-6 victory over Kent State in the season finale. With the winning 22-yard field goal, Principe also became the school's all-time leading scorer on the kick with 224 total points. He also passed Dallas Pelz (2000-03) to become UB's all-time leader in field goals with 37.
Kourtney Brown (Solon, OH/Solon) of the women's basketball team averaged 15.5 points and 9.0 rebounds in UB's two games at the Dead River Company Classic at the University of Maine. Brown, who was also named to the all-tournament team, scored 14 points, pulled down 10 rebounds and had five steals against Penn State in the opener and finished with 17 points and eight boards in the consolation against Maine.
