Athletes of the Week - 11/20/2000

Shawn Kegel (Wantaugh, NY/MacArthur) of the wrestling team earned first place honors at the Bloomsburg Invitational winning the 133 pound weight class with a perfect 4-0 record. The Bulls won the tournament for the first time in school history with 179 points to edge out Bloomsburg's 175.5. Kegel also went undefeated at Binghamton's Bearcat Invitational wrestling unattached the previous week.

Mari McClure (Rochester Hills, MI/Rochester Adams) of the women's basketball team led the Bulls to a 95-89 win over 22nd-ranked North Carolina scoring a career-high 35 points. McClure had suffered a knee injury during practice earlier in the week and had an MRI done the day before the game. Playing a team-high 38 minutes, McClure was 10-of-22 from the field with four threes and was 11-of-13 at the free throw line with 10 of her free throws coming in the final 3:10. Her 10 field goals and 11 free throws tied both her career highs.
