Athletes of the Week - 11/13/2000
Marquis Dwarte (Baltimore, MD/Perry Hall) of the football team rushed for a career high 163 yards on 24 carries in UB's 49-14 loss at Akron. The redshirt freshman's 100-yard effort was the third time that UB has had a rusher go over 100 yards in a game as the Bulls rushed for 243 yards on the game - their second-best effort of the season.
Abby Delia (Oswego, NY/Oswego) of the women's swim team was a
double winner in the Bulls' 185-115 win over St. Bonaventure, the first time
UB has defeated the Bonnies since 1989. Delia, who transferred from St. Bonaventure
prior to the season, took the 100 backstroke in 58.53 and the 100 freestyle in
54.27 and was part of both of UB's winning relay squads.
