ATHLETES OF THE WEEK

Greg Gamble (Niagara Falls, NY/Niagara Falls) of the men's basketball team averaged 19 points, including a career-best 25 against Ohio Valley, as the Bulls opened the 2007-08 season at the 2K Sports College Hoops Classic benefiting Coaches vs. Cancer. Gamble also scored a team-high 13 points and seven rebounds against Connecticut. In the two games, he also dished out five assists while also grabbing five steals.

Andrea Lehner (Lockport, NY/Orchard Park) of the women's swimming team won five individual events and was part of a winning relay team in UB's weekend split against Eastern Michigan and Ball State. Lehner broke Jennefer Brankovsky's record in the 500-yard freestyle on Friday to set a new mark of 4:56.28. She also posted season-best times in the 200-yard individual medley and 100-yard freestyle over the weekend.
