Athletes of the Week - 11/08/1999
Senior Josh Roth (Conewango Valley, NY/Pine Valley) of the football team rushed for over 100 yards for the second time in his career in a 20-13 loss to Hofstra this weekend. Roth had 18 carries for 126 and an 18-yard touchdown to spearhead the Bulls offensive charge.
Sophomore transfer Dawn Hickey (Brockport, NY/Brockport) of
the women's swimming team shattered UB swimming records for the second week in
a row and helped lead the Bulls to a 156-73 win over Akron. They also lost to
Ohio,140-96. Hickey set new school marks in the 1650 freestyle (17:14.50), the
1000 free (10:21.20), and in the 500 free (5:00.51 - also a personal best).
