Athletes of the Week - 11/02/2009

Dennis Pollow (Ransomville, NY/Wilson) of the men's cross country team earned All-MAC Second Team honors as he helped the Bulls to a fifth-place team finish, UB's highest placing since 2001 at the MAC Cross Country Championships. Pollow, in his third meet with the Bulls after spending four seasons at Penn State, finished 14th overall in the 8K race, crossing the finish line in 26:26.4 along a muddy course.

 

 

Meili Carpenter (Boulder, CO/Fairview) of the women's swimming and diving team went undefeated in her four diving events during UB's meets at Miami and Ohio and established a pair of records in the three-meter competition. Against the Bobcats on Saturday, Carpenter scored 345.30 points on the three-meter board to set the Ohio Aquatic Center pool record and break her own UB mark in the event.
