Athletes of the Week - 10/28/2002

Tim Dance (Erie, PA/Cathedral Prep) of the football team caught a career-high nine passes for another career-best 92 yards in UB's 16-12 loss to Kent State. Dance, a redshirt freshman, also caught his first two career touchdown passes with receptions of 11 and 17 yards, both in the fourth quarter. For the season, he is fourth on the team with 16 catches for 167 yards.

 

Anna-Lesa Calvert (Dallas, TX/Bryan Adams) of the women's soccer team recorded a pair of shutouts over the weekend to ensure the Bulls a spot in the upcoming Mid-American Conference Tournament. Calvert blanked Kent State, 3-0, on Friday, recording a career-best eight saves. She followed that with another 3-0 shutout against Ohio, stopping four shots. Calvert has recorded four shutouts this season.
