Athletes of the Week - 10/26/2009

Ike Nduka (White Plains, NY/White Plains) of the football team matched his career-high with 172 yards rushing and scored a career-best three touchdowns in UB's overtime contest at Western Michigan. Nduka, a game-time decision, averaged 9.6 yards per carry with 18 rushes. He had a career-best 56-yard run for one of his three scores. In seven games, Nduka has 568 yards rushing and ranks fifth among the MAC's rushing leaders.

 

 

Jordan Deren (Lackawanna, NY/Nardin Academy) of the women's swimming and diving team won a pair of races to lead the Bulls past Duquesne in UB's dual-meet season opener, 137.5-75.5. Deren won both distance freestyle races as she opened with a victory in the 1,000-yard freestyle in 10:28.05 and followed with a win in the 500-yard freestyle in 5:05.04.
