Athletes of the Week - 10/19/2009

Photo of Naaman Roosevelt Naaman Roosevelt (Buffalo, NY/St. Joseph's) of the football team became the all-time receptions leader and caught two touchdown passes in UB's 21-17 win over Akron. Roosevelt finished with a career-high 12 catches for 100 yards and passed Drew Haddad for first place with 250 career receptions. It was the 13th time in his career that he had over 100 yards receiving and he became the first to surpass 5,000 all-purpose yards.

 

 

Photo of Tori Beckman Tori Beckman (Kansas City, MO/Park Hill) of the women's volleyball team notched 67 digs in two contests and became the first player to record 30 digs in a match since 2006. She had 31 in Friday's "Dig Pink" match and added 36, the most in a match since 1999, in Saturday's five-set win. She also added seven assists and two service aces as the Bulls spit their weekend matches against Northern Illinois and Western Michigan.
