Athletes of the Week - 10/19/1998
All-American candidate junior flanker Drew Haddad (Westlake, OH/St. Ignaius) jumpstarted UB's comeback with an electrifying 82-yard punt return for a touchdown with 7:39 to go in the third quarter. It was Haddad's school-record second punt return for a score this season and the second-longest in UB history (behind Haddad's 94-yard return for a score against Cornell this year).
In her last match for the University at Buffalo senior women's tennis player
Annulett Dillon (Buffalo, NY/Bennett) defeated Brandi Cera of
Niagara University to finish her career with a miraculous win. Dillon saved
six match points and a 5-1 lead in the 3rd set to beat her opponent 7-6 in a
tiebreaker and help the Bulls defeat the Purple Eagles, 5-4.
