Athletes of the Week - 10/18/2004
James Evans (Irvington, NJ/Irvington)
of the football team had a career game against Miami
(OH) with eight solo tackles, a forced fumble, an interception, two pass breakups and a sack. Evans, a
freshman cornerback, recorded his first career sack on Miami quarterback Josh Betts that resulted in a fumble and a
22-yard loss. He leads the team with three interceptions this season.
Jenny Dannecker (East Amherst, NY/Holy Angels
Academy) of the women's soccer team scored a
hat trick and added an assist in UB's 5-2 win over Toledo on Friday. It was the first hat trick by a UB women's
player since October 3, 2003. Dannecker, a senior forward, leads the Bulls with six goals, including two
gamewinners, and six assists.
