Athletes of the Week - 10/17/2005

Photo of Braden Byler Braden Byler (Erie, PA/Cathedral Prep) of the men's soccer team scored two goals to lead the Bulls to a 4-0 MAC victory over Bowling Green. Byler came off the bench to replace an injured Lee Catchpole (Norwich, England/Bungay) to record his first two-goal game since the 2004 opener against Colgate. Byler, who earned his first start of the season on Sunday against IPFW, has three goals on eight shots in 2005.

 

Photo of Lauren Burd Lauren Burd (York, PA/Central York) of the women's volleyball team averaged a team-high 2.70 kills per game while hitting a team-high .288 in Buffalo's three matches last week. Burd had a team-high 10 kills and seven blocks at Syracuse and added 13 kills and four blocks against Kent State, helping the Bulls to their first MAC win of the season. She also averaged 1.20 blocks per game and 3.35 points per game for week.
