Athletes of the Week - 10/15/2007
James Starks (Niagara Falls, NY/Niagara Falls) of the football team rushed for a career-high 231 yards, the most at UB Stadium and the third-most all-time, in leading the Bulls to their second-straight victory, 43-33 over Toledo. Starks, who rushed for a then-career-high of 183 yards last week, scored three touchdowns on runs of 45, nine and 36 yards. He has scored 10 rushing touchdowns and has 12 total touchdowns this season.
Amy Coron (Farmington, NY/Victor) of the women's soccer team posted her second shutout of the season with Sunday's 1-0 victory over Bowling Green. Coron stopped 10 Falcon shots and also had eight saves against Toledo on Friday. Coron leads the Mid-American Conference with 90 saves and ranks third in the league in saves per game averaging 6.43 per contest.
