Athletes of the Week - 10/14/2002
Patrick Beckley (Poughquag, NY/Arlington) of the men's soccer team scored the game-winning goal in UB's 3-0 Mid-American Conference victory over Western Michigan on Sunday. Beckley scored on a breakaway in the first half to give the Bulls a 1-0 edge. It was Beckley's first goal of the season and the junior's fifth of his career.
Elizabeth Pfeffer (Liverpool, NY/Cicero-North
Syracuse) of the women's soccer team scored two
goals in three games. She tallied a goal in UB's 3-0 win over Canisius on Tuesday and added another in a 2-1 loss
at Akron. Pfeffer leads the Bulls with three goals this season and ranks ninth all-time on UB's scoring list with
18 goals.
