Athletes of the Week - 10/13/2003
 Andy Wigton (Rochester, NY/Greece-Athena)
of the men's cross country team earned his first
collegiate title with a winning time of 26:11.7 to lead the Bulls to a team victory at the UB Invitational.
Wigton completed the 8K course by a full minute over the second-place finisher, UB's
Joel Beatty (Holley, NY/Holley).
Emily Russell (Averill Park, NY/Academy of the Holy
Name) of the women's soccer team scored
three goals and added an assist in UB's two-game weekend homestand. Russell scored the lone goal in the Bulls'
2-1 double-overtime loss to Ball State, then followed on Sunday by playing a part in all three tallies in UB's 3-1
win over Miami (OH), the first time the Bulls have defeated the RedHawks. Russell had an assist and scored
two goals, including the gamewinner, to give her 14 goals for the season, three shy of the school record.
