Athletes of the Week - 10/07/2002
 Mike Lambert (Syracuse, NY/Jamesville-DeWitt)
of the football team tied a career high with
four passes defensed vs. Western Michigan (three pass breakups and an interception at his own goal line which he returned 87 yards, the third longest in school history). Two of his pass breakups were also in the end zone and
he also recorded his second career sack in the game as well as five tackles.
Kristen Ortman (Amherst,
NY/Amherst) of the women's tennis team led the Bulls to a 7-0 win
over crosstown rival Canisius. Ortman, a freshman playing at number one due to an injury to
Karen Maynard (Poughkeepsie,
NY/Spackenkill), defeated Anne Nguyen, 6-1, 6-3 and also posted a doubles victory at
number two. For the season, Ortman is 5-2 in both singles and doubles competitions.
