Athletes of the Week - 10/05/2009

Ike Nduka (White Plains, NY/White Plains) of the football team rushed for 172 yards on 22 carries in his first career start at running back in Saturday's game against Central Michigan. Nduka averaged 7.8 yard per carry in the contest and had a 48-yard run in the third quarter, UB's longest run from scrimmage this season, leading to a UB field goal. In four games this season, the junior has rushed for 251 yards.

 

 

Lindsey Schlegel (Lancaster, NY/Lancaster) of the women's volleyball team averaged 34.5 assists and eight digs in UB's weekend split against Mid-American Conference foes Kent State and Ohio. Schlegel also added nine kills, four blocks and a pair of service aces in the two matches. The junior setter is averaging 9.9 assists per game and leads the Bulls with 28 aces.
