Athletes of the Week - 10/02/2006

Brian Knapp (Liverpool, NY/Liverpool) of the men's soccer team scored the game-winning goal in the 85th minute to lift the Bulls past IPFW, 1-0, in their MAC opener. Knapp took a pass from Dan Stevens (Liverpool, NY/Liverpool) and found the back of the net for his third goal of the season. Knapp's three goals this season is second on the club. The victory was also UB's fourth straight road win of the season.

 

 

Nikki Morzenti (Safety Harbor, FL/Clearwater) of the women's volleyball team became the fifth player in UB history to total 1,000 kills and 1,000 digs in a career. Morzenti scored her 14th dig of the match, and 1,000th of her four-year career, on the final rally in UB's three-game victory over Akron on Friday. She also added 12 kills and 10 digs in Saturday's match against Ball State, her third consecutive game with double-figures in kills and digs.
