Athletes of the Week - 09/28/2009

Naaman Roosevelt (Buffalo, NY/St. Joseph's) of the football team had his 11th career 100-yard receiving game, which ties him for second all-time in school history, with a nine-catch, 120-yard effort against Temple. He has now caught a pass in 42 straight games, the second longest streak in the nation and he moved into 12th place in MAC history for career catches with 227 and has amassed 3,042 receiving yards for his career.

 

 

Shannon Fisher (Mississauga, Ontario/John Fraser SS) of the women's soccer team netted the game-tying goal to forge a 1-1 tie against Miami (OH) in UB's MAC opener. Fisher scored her first collegiate goal 11 minutes into the second half, assisted by Stephanie Velez (Mamaroneck, NY/Mamaroneck) and Lindsey Bailey (Burlington, Ontario/Assumption). Fisher finished the game with two shots on goal.
