Joe Freedy (Bethel Park, PA/Bethel Park)
of the football team spearheaded a second-half comeback
as the Bulls defeated Connecticut 37-20, breaking an 18-game road losing streak and marking the first UB
victory for head coach Jim Hofher. Freedy led the Bulls on six straight scoring drives and completed 16-of-26 passes
in the second half, finishing 20-of-36 for 218 yards and a touchdown with no interceptions.
Nicole Olszewski (Lancaster,
NY/Lancaster) of the women's soccer team scored the
game-winning goal in overtime as the Bulls defeated Bowling Green 2-1. The sophomore also scored two goals and
added three assists to lead UB to a 6-1 victory over Akron. For the season,
Olszewski has scored 17 points (six goals, five assists) in the Bulls' first eight games, just two points shy of her 2000 output of 19 points. She has
